Born and raised in Tennessee, Joe has been in the kitchen since he was 17. Over the last decade in New York City, he’s worked in popular kitchens across the city like Lunetta and Pizza Moto, most recently as the Executive Chef at the beloved Silver Apricot, the acclaimed New-American-Chinese restaurant in the West Village (named one of "The 100 Best Restaurants in New York City" by The New York Times), which closed in August 2024. He is also the executive chef for Figure Eight, the Southern-seafood inspired restaurant showcasing Chinese-American pantry items, just next door to Cora.
